Liz Haight and Bob Bern, Milonguero style tango teachers

liz teaching cropped.jpg

Liz has been teaching social dance since 1997.  Since 2003, she has focused on Milonguero style Argentine tango teaching nationally in festivals and weekend workshops as well as at home in Santa Fe, NM. Liz owns Two Moon Tango, a dance studio dedicated to preserving the essence of Milonguero style tango - the tango of the traditional dance halls of Buenos Aires. In 2009 she began establishing Encuentros in North America to further support Milonguero style tango in the US. In this style, she has studied with many Milongueros, but most extensively with Ricardo Vidort, Alicia Pons, and Osvaldo & Coca Cartery.  Liz's love of people, her technical ability in both leading and following, and her passion for the energetic and emotional elements of the dance have led her to developing effective ways of teaching not only the physical aspects of tango, but also the more elusive, transcendent qualities of the dance. Her exploratory form of teaching allows for a visceral experience of tango as a form of communication, creativity, profound connection and the joy of self-expression.

Bob has been a student of Liz's since 2003 and has been assisting her teaching at Two Moon Tango and workshops out of state since 2015. He has also studied extensively with Ricardo Vidort and Alicia Pons.  Bob is a visual artist. His text based drawings are an exploration of people's complex and personal stories with healthcare and illness. He is a gifted dancer  and a natural teacher, having a deep understanding and commitment to the creative process and it's role in Milonguero style tango.
